That leaves the Sabres roster still with 36 players (21 forwards, 12 defensemen and three goaltenders) on their training camp roster. The team already trimmed down by eleven on Saturday by releasing Kevin Porter, Brycen Martin, Devante Stephens, Eric Cornel, Vaclav Karabacek, Stevie Moses, Jason Kasdorf, Jonas Johansson, Adam Wilcox and Casey Nelson.

Only veteran forward Kevin Porter needed to clear waivers. The Sabres have two games left in their preseason in preparation for the 2017-18 campaign. They will head to Pittsburgh, Pa. to faceoff with the Penguins on Wednesday night before putting the cap on the preseason on Friday night at the Key Bank Centre in Buffalo, NY against the New York Islanders.
