Blake Wheeler and Jacob Trouba each picked up a goal and assist on Friday, helping the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 26 shots in the loss while Chad Johnson turned aside 25 for Bufalo.
A pair of defenseman, each scoring their first goals of the seaosn, opened the scoring about midway through the 1st period. Dustin Byfuglien beat Chad Johnson on the power play for the early 1-0 Winipeg lead, but Marco Scandella tied it up moments. With Sam Reinhart in the box for high sticking, Byfuglien found the back of the net with a rocket from the blue line.
