Kane traded to Sharks by Sabres

Evander Kane was traded to the San Jose Sharks by the Buffalo Sabres on Monday for forward Daniel O’Regan, a conditional draft pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Kane, as 26-year-old forward, is in the final season of a six-year contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

“Evander is one of the top young power forwards in the NHL. He is a dynamic player who has a unique combination of size, grit, speed and goal-scoring ability,” Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said. “We wanted to add a player that could help this team but also was just hitting his prime. We feel that Evander fits both of those needs and we see this as a great opportunity for him to get to know our group and the city of San Jose.” Read More
