Sabres survive for 2-1 win over Tampa Bay

The Buffalo Sabres held on, despite a late onslaught, to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 on Tuesday night at KeyBank Center.

Jeff Skinner broke a scoreless tie with just over two minutes to go in the opening period with a goal to make it 1-0 Buffalo. Skinner’s goal came on a rebound chance after a face-off win in the offensive zone. Sam Reinhart took the initial shot on goal before Skinner swept the second chance home on the backhand.
