A hooking penalty on the first shift of the game snowballed into an early two-goal lead for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Buffalo Sabres never caught up in a 5-2 loss at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.

The Sabres killed the early penalty, which was assessed to Johan Larsson 36 seconds into the contest, but Oskar Lindblom scored from the side of the net to put the Flyers on the board at 2:48 and Jakub Voracek cleaned up a rebound to double their lead five minutes later. Read More

Kyle Okposo said Tuesday morning that the Buffalo Sabres would need to acknowledge that their chances might be limited against the New York Islanders, but be ready to capitalize when they did come.

Skinner, Sabres rally past Kings in OT

Jeff Skinner scored on the power play at 1:49 of overtime, and the Buffalo Sabres ended a five-game losing streak with a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Kings at KeyBank Center on Tuesday. 

Skinner got the rebound off Jack Eichel‘s initial shot in the crease and scored into an open net.

Eichel scored his fifth goal in the past three games to cut it to 3-2 on the power play at 3:47 of the third period, and Johan Larsson tied it 3-3 at 7:23 when he redirected Lawrence Pilut‘s pass in front. Read More
