Couture’s hat-trick leads San Jose to 5-1 win

Logan Couture netted a hat-trick and the San Jose Sharks scored three times on the power play to down the Buffalo Sabres by a 5-1 score on Thursday night at the SAP Center in San Jose, California .

San Jose took advantage of an early power play, scoring a pair of quick goals in the first period to grab a 2-0 lead. With Kyle Okposo in the box serving a double minor for high-sticking, Joonas Donskoi parked himself in front of the net for his second goal of the season. Erik Karlsson took the initial shot and Donskoi was able to redirect it past Carter Hutton for the first goal of the game. Only 27-seconds later, Couture added another power play goal, a sneaky shot that got through traffic and beat Hutton over his left shoulder. Read More
